Solar and Wind Energy: A Pathway to Sustainable Viksit Bharat
Abstract: India's rapid economic growth and increasing energy demand require a transition to renewable energy sources. The growing energy demand, environmental concerns, and depleting fossil fuel resources necessitate a shift toward non-conventional energy sources. The potential of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, biomass, ocean wave energy, and thorium-based nuclear power in India. Special emphasis is given to recent technological advancements, economic feasibility, and environmental benefits. Solar and wind energy play a crucial role in India's vision for viksit Bharat, ensuring sustainable and energy-secure development. This paper examines the current status, technological advancements, economic feasibility, and policy frameworks supporting solar and wind energy in India. It highlights large-scale projects such as the Bhadla Solar Park and offshore wind energy initiatives, along with challenges such as grid integration and intermittency. The study emphasizes the importance of continued research, policy support, and innovation to make solar and wind power the backbone of India's energy future
