DEVELOPING SOFT SKILLS IN HIGHER EDUCATION: A CRUCIAL COMPONENT FOR FUTURE SUCCESS
In today’s fast-paced, globalized world, the demands placed on professionals are constantly evolving. While technical knowledge and specialized expertise remain critical, the importance of "soft skills" – such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence – has surged to the forefront of what employers seek. These skills are not only essential for navigating complex work environments but are also increasingly critical for fostering personal growth and adaptability in the face of change. Thus, the role of higher education in cultivating soft skills has become a crucial area of focus. This paper will explore the development of soft skills in higher education, delving into the methods used to promote these competencies, examining experimental studies, and drawing conclusions on the effectiveness of current practices. We will also consider how institutions can better integrate soft skill training into their curricula to prepare students for both professional success and personal fulfillment.
