Suicidal Ideation: A Multidimensional Analysis of Psychological Factors, Diagnostic Assessment, and Interventional Approaches
Suicidal ideation is a highly prevalent psychopathological phenomenon, associated with extreme emotional suffering and significant risk of suicidal behavior. This academic paper aims to explore the multiple dimensions of suicidal ideation, including risk and protective factors, clinical assessment methods, and evidence-based therapeutic strategies. Emphasizing the systematic review conducted by Baptista (2024), this work also incorporates recent empirical findings on mental health and suicide prevention. Results indicate that integrated action combining early diagnosis, psychotherapeutic intervention, and public prevention policies can significantly reduce suicidal ideation rates. The study concludes that multidisciplinary, empathetic, and structured approaches are fundamental to promoting mental health and preventing suicide.
