Cloud Migration and Hybrid Infrastructure in Financial Institutions

Abstract:As financial services undergo digital transformation, cloud migration and hybrid infrastructurehavebecome pivotal in modernizing banking operations. This paper provides a comprehensive surveyofliterature on cloud adoption by financial institutions, identifying the benefits, challenges, andbestpractices associated with shifting IT workloads to public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. Keyadvantages include scalability, cost efficiency, and innovation potential, while concerns suchas datasecurity, regulatory compliance, and legacy integration are carefully examined. The study synthesizestechnical frameworks and industry case studies to outline a methodological approach for planningandexecuting cloud migration in banking. Ultimately, the analysis underscores that a hybrid cloudstrategycombining on-premises systems with cloud services enables institutions to leverage existinginvestmentsand comply with regulations, provided robust risk management and governance are in place. Keywords — Cloud migration, Hybrid cloud, financial institutions, Regulatory compliance, Cybersecurity,Digital transformation.
