THE IMPORTANCE OF A DIFFERENTIATED APPROACH IN TEACHING ENGLISH TO NON-PHILOLOGIC STUDENTS
Teaching English to non-philologic students—those not pursuing language-focused fields—poses a unique set of challenges. A one-size-fits-all method often fails to address the varied learning styles, needs, and motivations of these students. This article explores the significance of a differentiated approach in English language teaching (ELT), focusing on the necessity to cater to individual learning preferences, linguistic backgrounds, and goals. By using a variety of instructional strategies, teachers can enhance student engagement, improve language acquisition, and foster a deeper connection to the language. The article emphasizes the role of assessment, the importance of context-based learning, and the integration of technology to support personalized instruction. Ultimately, a differentiated approach helps students build confidence in using English in real-life situations, making it an indispensable method in the modern ELT landscape.
