Medicine and Morality: Ethical Perspectives Across World Religions: An Analytical Study.
This research paper examines ethical perspectives on medicine and ethics across major world religions, including Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. Through an in-depth analysis of relevant scriptural sources, theological interpretations, and historical precedents, the paper explores how different religious traditions have addressed the ethical implications of medical practices and their impact on human life and dignity. The paper highlights commonalities and differences in the ethical frameworks used by these religions, and how these frameworks have evolved over time in response to changing societal and technological conditions. In addition, the paper examines the role of traditional beliefs and practices in shaping the ethical landscape of healthcare. The findings suggest that while there are some universal principles shared across religions, such as the sanctity of life and the duty to alleviate suffering, the specific application of these principles in the medical context can vary significantly based on the theological underpinnings and cultural contexts of each tradition.
