Geometric and Topological Foundations of Energy and Mass in Chronon Field Theory
This paper presents a foundational reformulation of mass and energy grounded in the geometry and topology of time itself. In Chronon Field Theory (CFT) and Chronon Quantum Mechanics (CQM), time is represented by a smooth, future-directed unit vector field Φμ(x)\Phi^\mu(x)Φμ(x) that defines a causal foliation of spacetime. Within this structure, particles are modeled as topological solitons of the Chronon field, and two novel relations emerge: The Chronon Mass Law, which defines mass as an integral of temporal curvature over spatial hypersurfaces. The Chronon Energy Law, which links energy to the rate of internal phase evolution in proper time. These laws are shown to generalize and subsume Einstein's relation E=mc2E = mc^2E=mc2, which appears naturally in the smooth-field limit. The framework offers a unified and symmetry-based understanding of inertial mass and quantum energy, with implications for quantum gravity, topological field theory, and the ontology of time.
