Nurturing Green Mindsets Investigating Organizational Support in Human Resource Management for Environmental Behavior Enhancement.
This study investigates the mediation effect of green perceived organizational support on the relationship between green human resource management practices and employee environmental behavior in small and medium-sized enterprises in Pakistan. Data from 373 top management personnel were collected through questionnaires and analysed using structural equation modeling with SPSS and AMOS. The results demonstrate that green human resource management practices significantly influence in-role green behavior, extra-role green behavior, green innovative work behavior, and green knowledge-sharing behavior. Importantly, green perceived organizational support emerged as a significant mediator between green human resource management practices practices and the dimensions of employee environmental behavior. These findings highlight the pivotal role of organizational support in shaping environmentally conscious workplaces and fostering proenvironmental behaviors among employees in small and medium-sized enterprises. This study contributes to the understanding of the mechanisms through which green human resource management practices can effectively promote sustainability initiatives within organizations, providing valuable insights for the development of human resource management strategies tailored to enhance ecological stewardship and promote sustainable business practices. Such insights are critical for advancing sustainability agendas and driving positive environmental changes within and beyond the small and medium-sized enterprises sector.
