Semantic and visual patterns of patriotism in social networks and media platforms

The article examines the transformation of patriotic discourse in the digital space. The author analyzes how social networks and media platforms contribute to the formation of patriotic sentiments using specific semantic constructions and visual symbols. The research is based on examples of content including state symbols, quotes from historical figures, as well as popular slogans and hashtags. The paper highlights key patterns of patriotic discourse, such as the binary opposition of «friends» and «strangers», the use of emotionally tinged vocabulary, as well as the dissemination of patriotic content through viral mechanisms, including memes and flash mobs. The author emphasizes that modern media allow not only to broadcast the official ideology, but also to form alternative interpretations of patriotism, creating various social groups and communities. The findings of the study demonstrate that the digital environment not only enhances patriotic narratives, but also changes their perception through new communication tools. This is confirmed by statistical data on user engagement, the growth of patriotic rhetoric, and changes in the mechanisms for distributing patriotic content.
