WP2 D2.3 Use Cases and Requirements Analysis
This report documents the initial innovation pilot specifications for Bristol, Ørestad/Copenhagen, Gerace, Turano and North Brabant, their associated use cases and requirements for the GREENGAGE project. The Collaborative Requirements Engineering and Stakeholder engagement (CoReS) methodology has been adopted for this purpose. This methodology consists of several steps, namely; a) groundwork and context questionnaires, b) requirements gathering workshops, c) use case-based scenario requirements and d) requirements validation. Based on this methodology, several innovation pilot specifications were first developed, followed by use cases and requirements definition. The pilot specifications have been developed to address the objectives of the European Green Deal within the context of the GREENGAGE project. These innovation pilots define the scope and context of Citizen Observatories (COs). As such a number of possible use cases and requirements have been derived from these pilot specifications that address various common challenges including citizens’ mobility pattern analysis as well monitoring environmental conditions. These use cases and requirements are an indication of what kind of experiments and data collection can be carried out in GREENGAGE pilots. However, the use case and requirements validation process is still ongoing and will be followed by a review by the technical partners resulting in an acceptance or rejection of different requirements based on technical feasibility as well as relevance to the GREENGAGE objectives. Furthermore, at this stage the pilot specifications have been only specified by the innovation pilot representatives. In the next stage of the project citizens will be involved in the specification of their Citizens’ Observatories and their corresponding use cases and requirements will be documented continuously by using the Redmine system and reported in the second version of this deliverable, due M26. Therefore, Redmine will be the main source for other GREENGAGE WPs to have an up-to-date status of use cases and requirements and provide necessary support where applicable.Overall, the innovation pilots demonstrate how COs can be used to promote sustainable and democratic solutions to policy challenges such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as healthy cities etc. In this regard, it is clear from the pilot specifications that mobility is a major policy focus that has particular relevance for the majority of innovation pilots and a central objective in delivering on the policy challenges identified above according to GREENGAGE objectives and the European Green Deal.
