Update of Theories on Preventing and Reducing Bullying in Educational Institutions

In recent decades, there has been an increased concern for research on bullying in general and in educational institutions in particular. Research focuses on three dimensions: the argumentation of new approaches and theories of preventing and managing bullying in school, the development of existing theories and the praxiological application of theories and approaches to preventing and managing bullying in school. We find that there is a discrepancy between the value framework of the respective theories and the practical framework for their application, for building effective methodologies for preventing and managing bullying in school. It is worth mentioning that there are several theories in this regard based on different perspectives: psychological, social, pedagogical, etc. The emphasis is on classifying these categories and capitalizing on their guidelines/provisions in structuring possible methodologies for preventing, reducing and managing bullying in high school institutions. In this context, several educational strategies are proposed with the involvement of the family, school and community.
