Service Innovation Project: Bus Tracker
University of Dhaka (DU) currently has around 38,000 students, with approximately 60% of non-residentstudents relying on the DU transportation service daily. A significant issue for these students isthe excessive time spent waiting at bus stops. A recent survey of 200 students revealed that over37.8% wait more than 15 minutes for their buses, and 75.5% experience frequent bus delays. To address these issues, we propose developing a bus tracking feature within the existing DUapp's transportation section. This enhancement will allow students to view real-time buslocations, reducing wait times and uncertainty. By integrating this feature, the app's utility willbe significantly increased, providing students with a more efficient and reliable transportationexperience. This solution aims to improve overall satisfaction with DU's transportation servicesby leveraging technology to minimize delays and optimize the daily commute for non-resident students.
