Children's linguistic awareness is stimulated through JUCOLIN software

The research topic of this innovative product is focused on validating the improvement of the technological tool built in the first phase at an experimental level, to stimulate phonological metalinguistic skills, complexing this product about final sounds of words, initial sounds of words, syllabic segmentation of words, inversion of word syllables, letter sounds and phonemic synthesis of words [1], and complementing it with semantic awareness skills such as categorization, riddles, analogies, absurdities, and similarities and differences [2], as well as improving the use of the Technological tool: Software. Therefore, the impact of this product was determined with 4-6-year-old children attending school in children's centers in the city of Medellin, Colombia, who needed to strengthen the linguistic awareness component. For this purpose, tests were applied to evaluate the phonological PHMF and semantic PHMS metalinguistic skills as a pretest, then the prototype was applied and finally, the tests were applied again as a posttest, to determine the impact that this product generated in the children's metalinguistic skills selected for this exercise. In such a way this innovative product allowed to encourage the development of devices that supported the intervention processes of the speech therapist and in turn facilitated and diversified the integral development of the children of the Children's Centers of Comuna 10 of Medellin, Colombia.
