Climate Amelioration Initiatives in Kim Stanley Robinson's The Ministry for the Future

Kim Stanley Robinson’s The Ministry of the Future (2022) is about the catastrophic consequences of Neoliberal Capitalism on Climate Change. Robinson has become an eloquent voice in humanity's ongoing struggle with ecological problems. He helped bring the science fiction genre to the forefront in debates about the role of literature in an ecologically troubled world. He strongly supports science fiction as an important genre to present the history of humanity and the planet. He gives an overview of why he raised the issue of global warming. He brings the important question of ecological management to the centre of thought experiments in his novels. The environmental catastrophes caused by human-induced climate change pose a serious threat to the present and the future. Advancements in Science and Technology, Citizen-led Initiatives, and State-sponsored Interventions will help to solve the problems of climate change by solving the underlying causes of these disasters and threats, as well as the ways in which they are criticized by Kim Stanley Robinson in his chosen novel. Unlike the neo-liberal capitalist economic model, in this paper analyzes the consequences of a steady state economy within the framework of ecological economics in an attempt to mitigate the consequences of climate change by using science-based analysis as opposed to capitalist economic principles constantly striving for economic growth
