AUTOIMMUNE THYROID DISORDERS IN PREGNANCY.
Autoimmune thyroid disorders (AITDs) are among the most common endocrine disorders affecting women of reproductive age. Pregnancy poses unique challenges in the diagnosis, management, and prognosis of these conditions, impacting both maternal and fetal outcomes. This review examines the pathophysiology, epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, and management strategies for autoimmune thyroid disorders during pregnancy. It further explores recent advancements in research, including the implications of thyroid autoantibodies on pregnancy outcomes, with a focus on survey-based studies assessing patient experiences and clinical practices.
