MODERN HEPATOPROTECTORS MECHANISMS AND CLINICAL EFFICACY
Hepatoprotectors are agents that safeguard the liver from damage caused by toxins, oxidative stress, and inflammatory processes. Modern hepatoprotective agents include a variety of natural and synthetic compounds, with significant focus on phytochemicals derived from plants. This review explores the mechanisms of action of these agents, including their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antifibrotic properties. Furthermore, we examine their clinical efficacy, highlighting recent studies that validate their therapeutic potential. Despite encouraging preclinical data, more well-structured clinical trials are needed to establish their role in modern hepatology.
