Uses and Benefits of Artificial Intelligence in Modern Library Management
Abstract: This research paper delves into the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in transforming library management practices in digital age. With technologies like machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics, AI is reshaping how libraries operate-making processes faster, smarter, and more user-centric. From automated cataloguing and intelligent search features to personalized recommendations and virtual assistants, AI tool are helping libraries offer more efficient and tailored services. Using a mixed-methods research approach that includes surveys, interviews, case studies, and data analysis, and the study captures real-world insights from librarians, AI professionals, and users. The finding show that AI simplifies repetitive tasks such as tracking inventories, managing fines, and handling user queries, freeing up staff time for more meaningful engagement and planning. The paper also explores how AI contributes to inclusivity by enhancing accessibility features, such as voice-based navigation and language translation tools. At the same time, it critically examines the challenges of integrating AI, such as concerns about data privacy, potential algorithmic bias, high implementation costs, and the need to maintain a balance between automation and human interaction. Ultimately, the study emphasizes that while AI can significantly improve the efficiency and reach of library services, human librarians remain essential. Their expertise and judgment are vital in ensuring that libraries stay ethical, responsive, and inclusive in the face of rapid technological change.
