Expeditious analysis of combined antiretroviral tablets by chemometric assisted UV spectroscopic methods
Abstract:Application of chemometric models to the UV spectral data has become efficient, popular and facilitates the easy analysis of multicomponent formulations. In thecurrent study, Chemometric assisted UV spectroscopic methods namely principalcomponent regression (PCR) and partial least squares regression (PLS) wereemployed for the analysis of prominent antiretroviral fixed dose combinationcomprising of Lamivudine (LMV), Tenofovirdisoproxil fumarate (TDF) andDolutegravir Sodium (DTS) which was found to be very effective in reducing themortality rate of HIV infected patients. PCR and PLS methods were executed for thecalibration and validation sets which consists of twelve and seven standard mixturesolutions respectively in the concentration ranges of 5-25 μg/mL of LMV, 5-30μg/mL of TDF and 3-18 μg/mLof DTS. Data modelling was done in the wavelengthrange of 220 nm -370 nm with 2 nm data interval at the chosen optimal number offactors. The results obtained from both the models depicted their validity and can beapplied for the expeditious analysis of LMV, TDF and TDS in their commercialformulation.
