AESTHETIC AND FUNCTIONAL OUTCOMES OF VASCULARIZED COMPOSITE ALLOTRANSPLANTATION FOR TOTAL FACIAL RECONSTRUCTION IN PATIENTS WITH EXTENSIVE FACIAL TRAUMA AND BURNS
Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation (VCA) has emerged as a groundbreaking procedure for total facial reconstruction in patients with severe facial trauma and burns. This paper examines the aesthetic and functional outcomes of VCA, analyzing recent advancements, surgical techniques, post-transplant recovery, and patient satisfaction. The study incorporates literature from 2023, reviews success rates, and highlights key challenges such as immunosuppression and psychological adaptation. Data-driven insights, including tables and graphs, present comparative success rates and quality of life assessments post-VCA. The results suggest that VCA significantly improves both aesthetic and functional restoration, offering a transformative solution for patients with extensive facial damage.
