Hybrid Magnetoplasma Propulsion System: Concept and Feasibility

This document presents the concept, equations, and feasibility of a hybrid magnetoplasma propulsion system for space exploration. The system stores kinetic energy in high-velocity protons (0.5c), maintains plasma neutrality via synchronous electron injection, and enhances performance through photon-assisted processes. It achieves 2.57 MN thrust (1 s) or 42.9 kN (60 s) from only 52.8 g of protons, with an unprecedented specific impulse of 1.5 × 10⁷ s. Total system mass is 1–1.5 tons. Performance exceeds chemical, ion, Hall, and nuclear propulsion. All key equations, energy budgets, scaling paths, and technological components are detailed. The system is technically feasible by 2030–2035 and scalable for interstellar applications. Designed as a self-funded, independent theoretical project, this work proposes a clean and scalable alternative to chemical propulsion.
