A Systematic Review of Emerging Trends in Student-Led Research: An Inventory of Published Papers for the First Trimester of 2025

Student-led research is gaining momentum as a meaningful contributor to academic growth and innovation in education. These publications provide a unique lens into current academic issues as explored by student researchers, offering insights often grounded in new, real-world perspectives. Tracking and analyzing these works help institutions recognize valuable patterns, themes, and practical contributions that enrich educational practice and support a culture of scholarly engagement. A careful review of selected student-authored papers was conducted using a structured screening and analysis approach. The findings were organized and interpreted by applying thematic and comparative methods to highlight emerging insights from student research contributions. The study revealed that student-led research is increasingly rooted in themes of personal relevance, community engagement, and social well-being. Across various topics, students showed a strong ability to explore real-life concerns using appropriate and meaningful research methods. These studies highlight a shift in research culture where students act as learners and changemakers. The findings underscore the importance of supporting student inquiry through structured guidance, institutional resources, and inclusive academic spaces. The study confirms the value of reflective, experience-based research in fostering holistic learning and social awareness.
