Anthologies of Indian Poetry in English: Politics of Inclusion and Exclusion
This research article presents anthologies of Indian Poetry in English and their editors who play the game of inclusion and exclusion, ordained by their prejudices. The poet-editors are indulged in the dirty politics of being the godfathers for the favourites and the detractors for the opponents. An anthologist must be objective and unbiased in his selection of the poets. Parthasarathy committed a serious literary offence by not acknowledging nineteenth and early twentieth century poetry as a part of the continuation of Indian Poetry in English. The game of politics should be avoided for a healthy growth of Indian Poetry in English.
