GINGIVAL DEPIGMENTATION: TECHNIQUES, TRENDS AND THERAPEUTIC INSIGHTS

Self-confidence of a person is enhanced with a pristine smile. A harmonious smile has impute shape, colour and position of the teeth with proper gingival margins. Gingival Pigmentation differs with ethnicity of people, which may vary by variety of causes of external and endogenous sources. Melanin pigmentation causes aesthetic concerns and also produces stress. Surgical intervention for such cases is known as Gingival Depigmentation. There are multiple approach in such cases such as lasers, cryosurgery and many more approach are there. The aim of this review is to existing treatment modalities and which give good aesthetic results and low rate of recurrence rate.
