MONITORING OF SEISMIC GEODYNAMICS OF THE EARTH'S CRUST OF CEN-TRAL ARMENIA
Abstract According to the studies of a number of authors, the confinement of earthquake epicenters to zones of active deep faults has been established in Armenia. But, not all faults are characterized by the same seismicity. The most seismically active are the general Caucasian faults and two northeast-trending faults: Akhuryan and Ararat-Sevan. According to seismo-statistical data, Pambak-Sevan, Pambak-Sevan-Syunik, Garni, Akhuryan are especially highly active. There is a differentiation of faults in terms of seismic activity along their strike. In the event of earthquakes of medium and large strength, it is necessary to consider active blocks and fault nodes. Seismically active fault nodes are Spitak and Sevan. To determine the activation of seismicity in the study area, based on the catalogs of earthquakes for (2011-2022) and the general seismic regime, a map of background seismicity was constructed. The hydrogeodynamic effects that preceded the geodynamic processes of the earth's crust in the central region were revealed, according to changes in the dynamics of the groundwater level and the chemical composition of mineral waters.
