AWARENESS AND INCLUSION OF LIFE INSURANCE AMONG WOMEN IN TAMIL NADU: A STUDY ON PERCEPTION AND PARTICIPATION

This study examines the awareness, perception, and participation of women in Tamil Nadu with respect to lifeinsurance. Despite the increasing financial literacy and empowerment of women, their involvement in financialinstruments such as life insurance remains comparatively low. The study aims to assess the level of awareness, explore attitudes toward insurance, and identify barriers to participation. A combination of qualitative andquantitative data was collected from various districts across Tamil Nadu to provide a comprehensive understandingof the issue. The findings suggest that while basic awareness of life insurance exists, inclusion remains limited dueto socio-cultural, economic, and informational barriers. The study highlights the need for targeted financial literacyprograms and inclusive policy initiatives to improve women’s participation in life insurance schemes.
