CONSEQUÊNCIAS DA COVID-19 PARA A VIVÊNCIA DA ADOLESCÊNCIA: UMA REVISÃO NARRATIVA

Considering that adolescence was impacted by the social isolation measures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this study conducted a narrative literature review on the consequences of the pandemic period on adolescents’ experiences. This study investigated the domains of life most affected, and the type of support adolescents receive to cope with the difficulties imposed during that period. The research was conducted on the Regional Portal of BVS, using the descriptors: “adolescence” and “COVID-19” in Portuguese. The results indicated an increase in anxiety, depression, and family conflicts, as well as the interruption of rites of passage and school activities. The lack of social interaction also led to a decrease in social skills and an increase in technological dependence. Psychological support played a significant role in reducing negative effects on this population. Thus, the need for public policies focused on the socio-emotional recovery of adolescents is also discussedKeywords: Adolescence, Pandemic, Developmental Psychology.
