Plexippus lutescens Wesołowska, 2011 Fig. 40 Plexippus lutescens Wesołowska, 2011b: 336, figs 69, 70, 94 (♂). Diagnosis. The palpal organ of this species differs from those in congeners in having a very small posterior lobe of the bulb (larger in other species) and diminutive teeth of the serrated keel on the prolateral side of the bulb (larger in others) (Fig. 40B, D). The female is unknown. Material examined. MOZAMBIQUE: Tete: IV.1947, leg. C.F. Roewer, 1♂ (SMF 9933). Redescription. Male: Measurements. Cephalothorax length 3.2, width 2.4, height 1.4. Eye field length 1.4, anterior width 2.0, posterior width 1.9. Abdomen length 3.4, width 1.8. General appearance as in Fig. 40A. Carapace dark brown, thoracic part slightly lighter medially, eyes surrounding by black area. Long brown bristles at first row of eyes, between these eyes some white hairs, light band composed with white hairs on lateral slopes of carapace. Mouthparts brown, sternum slightly lighter. Some white hairs on clypeus and on chelicerae basally. Abdomen brownish, with wide median yellowish streak, venter yellow, with brown lines laterally. Spinnerets yellow. Legs brown, bearing brown hairs and spines. Palpal organ as in Fig. 40B–E, prolateral keel of bulb composed of very small teeth, posterior bulb lobe very small, tibial apophysis short. Cymbium and palpal tibia dorsally clothed in white hairs. Distribution. A species previously known from Namibia and Zimbabwe; this is the first record from Mozambique.
