Mohendra Dynamic Repulsion System (MRDS): A Modular Electromagnetic Levitation Framework for Sustainable Transportation
The Mohendra Dynamic Repulsion System (MDRS) introduces a next-generation magnetic levitation framework designed for road-based urban and rural mobility, optimized for energy efficiency, modularity, and scalability in developing nations. Evolving from the original Mohendra Repulsion Theory (MRT), MDRS addresses previous limitations by implementing dynamically controlled electromagnetic coil segments that repel vehicle-mounted neodymium magnets to achieve stable, frictionless levitation 1–2 cm above the ground. MDRS integrates an AI-based stability control system that processes real-time sensor feedback (Hall Effect, LIDAR, and IMU) to maintain vehicle balance and levitation under variable loads. The infrastructure is designed to be modular—electromagnetic plates embedded in road surfaces are powered by solar and piezoelectric energy harvesters, supported by supercapacitors to manage lift surges and backup descent during power failures. The system supports light to medium-duty vehicles (200–1500 kg), making it suitable for India's auto-rickshaws, delivery vans, and rural transport. Safety mechanisms like retractable wheels and EMI shielding ensure reliable operation in high-temperature and high-traffic environments. This publication also includes a detailed appendix addressing real-world engineering challenges—such as thermal management, terrain adaptation, energy requirements, and load-balancing—and presents practical solutions with implementation roadmaps. The MDRS represents a significant shift toward democratized clean transport by offering a rail-free alternative to expensive Maglev systems, empowering grassroots mobility through technology. Developed by a young independent researcher, this work is an open invitation to collaborators, scientists, and engineers to further prototype and deploy this futuristic yet practical solution for sustainable transport.
