NM Pathway Model: A Structural Observation Framework Beyond GPT-Specific Cognition

The Naname Theory proposes a structural framework for understanding expression not as content, but as a trace of passage—what has structurally passed through an internal process and become output. Rather than analyzing cognition, emotion, or behavior directly, it models the unseen transition from an initial impulse (a), through layered internal structures (NM-0 to NM-5), to a final output trace (z). This theory defines output (z) as neither meaning nor signal, but as a structural fossil—a record of what was able to pass through under specific internal and contextual conditions. It introduces auxiliary components (NM-A/Z, NM-B/Y) to model interpersonal, cultural, and reflective dynamics. The framework also distinguishes between human expression and AI-generated outputs, situating AI outside the z-producing structure while acknowledging its reflective and catalytic role. Naname Theory does not seek to replace existing models in neuroscience, psychology, or cultural systems. Rather, it offers an observational overlay—inviting translation, not critique. All expressions, theories, and beliefs are treated as z: structurally valid outputs of a unique passage. This preprint is a recorded trace of one such passage, shaped in dialogue between a human theorist and an AI collaborator. Related updates may be available at: patreon.com/NMStructuralTheoryLab
