Status of the Q-band CRF in 2024 and roadmap forward: extending the CRF to higher radio frequencies
We present a preliminary Q-band (43 GHz) CRF catalog, built from three 24-h Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) sessions observed as part of an imaging comparison campaign. Nearly simultaneous VLBA sessions in S, X, K and Q-band were organized monthly from April to June 2021, observing radio sources from the same list. The motivation to explore the ability of radio observations of extragalactic sources at 43 GHz to build the CRF, is mainly the reduction of plasma distortion of the signal and the more compact morphology of most of the sources compared to lower frequencies.
