Tridenchthoniidae Balzan 1892

TRIDENCHTHONIIDAE Balzan, 1892 This family contains 71 species belonging to 15 genera. Only two species, Dithella javanica (Tullgren, 1912) and Tridenchthonius mexicanus Chamberlin J.C. and Chamberlin V., 1945, were found on Passalidae (Beier 1948; Aguiar and Bührnheim 1992, 1998, 2011). Tridenchthonius mexicanus was found on as many as 26 species of Passalidae (Tables 2, 4, 14). This is the largest number of hosts found in passalid-associated arthropods.
