MORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN THE THYMU OF 33-38 WEEKS OF INFANTS WITH ANTENNATAL DEATH
Those who died from intrauterine infection in the antenatal period accounted for 78.2% of all infants and formed the basis of our study. Morphological developmental lags in the thymus gland are characterized by: the width of the cortical layer of the thymus, the very small area of the medullary layer, and the almost complete absence of mature lymphocytes. The main morphological substrate of these changes was the small size of the reticuloepithelial cells of the thymus cortex, the short and thick appearance of the desmasomas, the abundance of sparse fibrous structures connecting the spaces between the desmasomas, especially in the perivascular areas of the cortex, which also led to the functional impairment of the hematohistogenic barrier.
