Effect of Temperature on Gas Sensing Properties of NiO-GO Nanocomposite

Abstract: The gas sensing properties of the Nickel oxide-graphene oxide (NiO-GO) nanocomposite, synthesized using a cost-effective microwave combustion technique, were studied against various volatile compounds (VCs) viz. Methanol, Acetone, Ammonia, Ethanol, and Toulene measured at various temperature ranging from room temperature (25 ℃) to 200 ℃. The formation of NiO-GO nanocomposite was confirmed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The NiO-GO nanocomposite shows elevated response of 69% against ammonia @150 ℃ at 100 ppm. The NiO-GO nanocomposites show appreciable response and recovery time of 44 and 35 sec respectively which indicates the inferiority of the prepared nanocomposite.
