INVESTIGATING MAGNETIC FIELD IMPACTS ON TOOL WEAR USING TAGUSHI METHOD SIMULATION
Enhancing the lifespan of cutting tools is pivotal for boosting the profitability and efficiency of manufacturing operations. By reducing the frequency of tool replacements, manufacturers can significantly lower the associated costs and minimize production interruptions, leading to a more streamlined and cost-effective production process. Furthermore, extended tool life ensures consistent and superior quality of finished products, which is crucial for maintaining competitive advantage and customer satisfaction. In this article, we delve into the impact of the magnetic field and various cutting parameters on the behavior of cutting tools during machining. Utilizing the Taguchi method, a robust statistical tool for optimizing process parameters, we systematically investigated the interplay between these factors. Our study revealed that the application of a magnetic field, in conjunction with optimized cutting parameters, markedly improves tool performance and durability. The empirical data obtained from our experiments exhibited an exceptional alignment with our predictive model, demonstrating a 99.58% agreement. This high level of accuracy underscores the reliability of our approach and highlights the potential for implementing these findings in real-world manufacturing settings. By adopting such advanced techniques, manufacturers can achieve significant improvements in tool longevity, ultimately fostering greater operational efficiency and profitability.
