Suidasiidae Hughes 1948

SUIDASIIDAE Hughes, 1948 Suidasiidae is a small family with seven genera. Only Suidasia pontifica Oudemans, 1905 was found, on the unidentified Passalidae (Philippines) (Balmes-Pacia and Corpuz-Raros 1998; Corpuz-Raroz 2001) (Tables 2, 5 and 7). In total, 77 Astigmata species have been found on the Passalidae (including those determined to genus, if there were no species identified for the genus, and listed as aff.). Together, on the same host species, Astigmata were found with Trombidiformes four times; Mesostigmata (2); Oribatida (1); Pseudoscorpiones (1); Mesostigmata and Trombidiformes (4); Oribatida and Trombidiformes (2); Mesostigmata and Oribatida (1); Mesostigmata and Pseudoscorpiones (1); Mesostigmata, Oribatida and Trombidiformes (1); and Diptera, Mesostigmata, Oribatida and Trombidiformes (1). Species of Passalidae on which only Astigmata (Canestriniidae) were found are Cetejus punctithorax Zang, 1903, Didimus sansibaricus Harold, 1880, Gonatas naviculator (Percheron, 18440, Labienus gigas (Kaup, 1868), Macrolinus nicobaricus Gravely, 1914, Pleurarius brachyphyllus, and Protomocoelus triumphator (Zang, 1904).
