CASE STUDY ANALYSIS: TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT ON A STUDENT OVERCOMING STIGMA IN TEENAGE PREGNANCY
This case study explored transformative impact on a student overcoming stigma in teenage pregnancy through an in-depth analysis of a participant from Malaybalay City National Science High School during the 2023-2024 school year. The study aimed to a) identify the impact of teenage pregnancy on a student; b) investigate the challenges students face during pregnancy; and c) understand how a teenage mother overcomes stigma while continuing her education. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research focused on a 16-year-old student. One-on-one interviews, parental confirmation, classroom observations, and quarterly grades provided data for thematic analysis. The study identified five transformative impacts: 1) family and social factors; 2) education and health influences; 3) physical changes; 4) emotional and mental health impacts; and 5) behavioral and belief systems. Findings highlighted how strong family support mitigated negative outcomes, reducing stress and anxiety for both the student and her child. The study underscores the importance of reproductive health programs, supportive school policies, and open parent-child communication.
