Blue Carbon in Climate Change
Climate change and its subsequent effects on the environment are faced by different nations throughout the world. Around 70% of the total area of the planet is covered by oceans and these oceans are important drivers for climate change. Recently conducted United Nations Climate conference on 24 November, 2024 at Baku, Azerbaijan, ended with a call to developed countries to dispense an amount of $300 billion per year to developing countries by 2035 so as to reduce the release of greenhouse gases and thereby to protect the environment from the negative impacts of climate change. Increasing in the emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) has to be reduced and need to be addressed rapidly.
