Symplanella Fennah 1987

Genus Symplanella Fennah, 1987 Symplanella Fennah, 1987: 244. Type species: Symplanella breviceps Fennah, 1987, by original designation. Diagnosis. Head short, with nearly square or elongate coryphe. Metope with median and sublateral carinae. Fore wings not narrowing, but widely rounded apically, with long clavus and a nodal line. Abdominal sternite II bearing apodemes (Figs 11, 22). Abdominal sternites IV–VI each with deep lateral furrows, apparently separating sternites and pleurites, not reaching its hind margins (Figs 17, 21, lf). Endogonocoxal lobes fused in shape of large sclerotization of different shape (Figs 13, 31, 32, GxL). Composition and distribution. Ten species distributed in China, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Thailand. Key to the subgenera and species of Symplanella 1. Metope narrow, twice longer than wide between eyes (Fig. 3). Pronotum with narrow medial part and strongly acutely angulated anterior margin (Fig. 1). Penis wide and flattened laterally, with short tubular apical part (Figs 7, 8).
