Developing tourism products based on the cultural heritage of Mt. Rigi in a participatory approach.
This paper presents the interim results of a 2.5-year project of fostering and valuing cultural heritage through tourism at Mt. Rigi, Switzerland. The project sources from an overarching process of sustainable development resulting in the "Charta Rigi 2030" (see Eggli et al., 2020). It is structured in three subprojects: First, a systematic analysis of the cultural heritage has been conducted. Then, themes have been selected and innovative products have been developed in a participatory way, which third, will lead to a more sustainably legacy of Mt. Rigi, paying back in the ongoing process of "Charta Rigi 2030".
