ІСТОРИЧНИЙ ЦЕНТР ОДЕСИ – ОБ'ЄКТ ВСЕСВІТНЬОЇ СПАДЩИНИ ЮНЕСКО

Summary. On the 4th of April 2024, in Odesa with the participation of Audrey Azoulay, DirectorGeneral of UNESCO, there took place the official ceremony of the inauguration of the informationplaque devoted to the insertion of the “Odesa Historic Centre” to the UNESCO World Heritage list.It was preceded by the decades of intensive work of Odesa investigators – historians of architectureand town-planning, specialists in the field of conservation and restoration of architectural heritage.Particular attention in this respect should be paid to the valuable contribution of academiciansVadym Lisenko and honorary member of Ukrainian Academy of Architecture Natalia Motyrieva.International scientific conferences devoted to this subject were organized and took place. But onlythe full scale invasion, firing and real threat of destructing valued objects of Odesa architecturalheritage due to war actions urged on the UNESCO leaders to agree finally to take over our heritage.The official decision to take over was reached on the 25th of January 2023.Keywords: cultural influence, historical and architectural reserve, the historic centre of Odesa,UNESCO Word Heritage list.
