Sinochlora kwangtungensis Tinkham 1945, stat. rev.

Sinochlora kwangtungensis Tinkham, 1945 stat. rev. È东华ūdz Sinochlora kwangtungensis Tinkham, 1945: 238; Kang 1992: 86 syn. Type locality. Kwangtung, Maan Chi Shan (now Guangdong, Qingyuan, Mao-zi-shan Mt.) (Type); Kiangsi, Kuling (now Jiangxi, Guling) (Allotype); Szechwan, Suifu (now Sichuan, Yibin) (Paratypes). Notes. This species has long been treated as a synonym of Sinochlora longifissa. However, specimens from southern China have shorter and straighter subgenital plates, while Japanese specimens have longer ones. The tenth abdominal tergum of the southern Chinese specimens is very short, with a width greater than its length, while the Japanese specimens have nearly equal length and width. Considering the significant geographical differences, we believe that this species should be treated as a valid species. Comparison of the calling songs and stridulatory files would be of considerable help in this respect. Distribution. Southern China.
