Guilty Treasures
The PITCHER project (Erasmus+ Programme, 2021-2024) designed and tested a set of Open Educational Resources focused on improving the capacity of teachers and educators in preparing new learning experiences to support the fight against archaeological looting and illicit trafficking of cultural goods. Since 2000, ICOM has published its Red Lists to combat the illicit trafficking in cultural goods which causes significant damage to heritage, particularly in regions of the world where cultural property is most susceptible to theft and looting. This Educational Resource for high-school students is based on the Red Lists. It takes the form of an educational game in which participants must identify a stolen cultural object and return it to the cultural organization to which it belongs.
