Economic and mathematical formalization of the preparation and implementation of substantial changes in the operational systems of construction enterprises
The subject of the research is the economic and mathematical models and methods used for theformalization of processes related to the preparation and implementation of substantial changes in theoperational systems of construction enterprises. Specifically, methods of optimization of management, production, and resource processes are considered, which enable effective implementation of changesunder dynamic economic and technological factors.Purpose of the article is to develop economic and mathematical models for the formalization of theprocesses of preparing and conducting substantial changes in the operational systems of construction enterprises, which will ensure improved management efficiency, resource and production process optimization,as well as a reduction in risks when implementing changes in the context of the modern economic environment. The methodology of the work is based on the combination of economic and mathematical methodsand approaches for the formalization of the processes of preparing and conducting substantial changesin the operational systems of construction enterprises. The study consists of several stages, each ofwhich contributes to the creation of scientifically grounded solutions for improving management andproduction processes. At the first stage, an analysis of existing approaches to change management in the operationalsystems of construction enterprises is conducted. For this, comparative analysis methods are usedto assess the effectiveness of different change management models, as well as to identify the mainproblems and shortcomings in the existing approaches. The second stage involves the development of economic and mathematical models that reflect theprocesses of preparing and conducting changes in the operational systems of enterprises. Linearand nonlinear programming methods are applied to find optimal solutions for resource management, production process planning, and cost reduction during the implementation of changes. The third stage involves scenario modeling, which anticipates various conditions for implementingchanges. Scenario analysis methods are used to assess the impact of various factors (economic, technological, organizational) on the outcomes of changes. This ensures flexibility in managerialdecisions and the adaptation of the enterprise to changing conditions. The fourth stage includes testingthe developed models using real construction enterprises as examples, where expert evaluations anddata analysis methods are applied. The real effectiveness of the proposed solutions and their impact onoptimizing operational processes is assessed. Thus, the research methodology allows for the creationof scientifically grounded economic and mathematical tools for effective change management in theoperational systems of construction enterprises. The results of the work confirm the effectiveness of economic and mathematical methodsfor formalizing the processes of preparing and conducting substantial changes in the operationalsystems of construction enterprises. During the work, models were developed that allow optimizingmanagement and production processes, as well as ensuring cost reduction and improving resourcemanagement efficiency when implementing changes. One of the significant results is the development of economic and mathematical models that allowevaluating the impact of various change strategies on enterprise performance indicators. The modelsinclude parameters that reflect internal and external factors affecting the operational activity ofconstruction enterprises, such as market conditions, resource constraints, technological innovations, and organizational changes. Using these models helps determine optimal options for implementingchanges with minimal costs and maximum impact for the enterprise.Another important result was the application of linear and nonlinear programming methods tocreate change management models that provide a balance between economic feasibility and thetechnological capabilities of the enterprise. Scenario modeling helped assess risks that may arise duringthe implementation of changes and develop strategies for minimizing these risks. This contributes tothe more flexible response of the enterprise to changing market and technological conditions. In the stage of model testing on real construction enterprises, their high effectiveness in practicalapplication was confirmed. The assessment of the effectiveness of the proposed solutions showed thattheir implementation significantly reduces resource management costs, shortens project completiontime, and enhances the overall competitiveness of enterprises. Thus, the results of the work demonstrate that the economic and mathematical formalization ofsubstantial changes in the operational systems of construction enterprises is an effective tool for optimizingmanagement processes and improving enterprise performance in a dynamic market environment.Conclusions. The conducted research proved that economic and mathematical methods areeffective tools for formalizing the processes of preparing and conducting substantial changes in the operational systems of construction enterprises. The application of these methods enables asystematic approach to change management, which is crucial for improving enterprise performancein the dynamic construction market. The main conclusion is that the economic and mathematical formalization of changes enables theoptimization of enterprise management processes, reducing costs and increasing resource efficiency.Modeling operational system changes allows for more accurate forecasting of the consequences ofdifferent change strategies, assessing risks, and selecting the most effective actions at each stage ofchange. Calculations using linear and nonlinear programming methods allow for choosing optimal solutionsfor enterprises, considering multiple factors, from technological constraints to changes in the labor andmaterials markets. Moreover, the effectiveness of these models has been confirmed when implementingchanges in various economic and technological situations, particularly when adapting to new constructiontechnologies, changes in the regulatory environment, and innovative management approaches. An important result was also the identification that the economic and mathematical model couldserve as the foundation for developing automated decision support systems that significantly simplifychange management processes and enhance their accuracy. This ensures greater flexibility forenterprises in responding to market situation changes, facilitates faster adoption of innovations, andallows timely adjustments to management strategies.Overall, the use of economic and mathematical models in the preparation and implementation ofsubstantial changes in the operational systems of construction enterprises is an important step towardachieving sustainability and competitiveness in the modern economy. The models developed in this studycould serve as the basis for improving management practices and strategies for the development ofconstruction enterprises and contribute to more efficient resource use at all stages of their activities.
