TREATMENT OF FRACTURES AND DISEASES OF THE PROXIMAL FEMOR IN CHILDREN USING A MONOLATERAL EXTERNAL FIXATION DEVICE
The authors have developed and successfully applied a monolateral external fixation device designed for the treatment of fractures and diseases of the proximal femur in children. A feature of the treatment of this type of fractures, using external fixation devices, is that in the presence of a short proximal bone fragment, it is difficult to create stable osteosynthesis, which is achieved by the spatial arrangement of fixing elements (intraosseous rods). The developed design of the outrigger brackets makes it possible to achieve rigid fixation of the proximal bone fragment on the support of the device, thereby creating stable osteosynthesis when performing both orthopedic and traumatological interventions on the femoral segment in children.
