The article discusses the use of medicinal and spicy plants in the pharmaceutical and food industries. Medicinal plants have a long history of use in folk medicine, and their active components are increasingly employed in modern pharmacology and culinary practices. The biological properties of selected plants, including the bay leaf, coriander, and capers, are described, as well as their economic value and efficiency when used in the food and medical industries. The role of these plants in enhancing the palatability of food and augmenting its nutritional value due to the presence of antioxidants and essential oils is examined. Particular emphasis is placed on the aspects of cultivation and production of medicinal plants from an economic efficiency standpoint. The findings demonstrate that the incorporation of medicinal and spicy plants into the food and pharmaceutical industries can lead to an increase in farm incomes, as well as an improvement in food quality.
