Sekcja Koleopterologiczna Polskiego Towarzystwa Entomologicznego 1971-2024

The Coleopterological Section of the Polish Entomological Society was established in 1971, and since then, 44 symposia have been organized. Most of the symposia had a specific theme (e.g., physiological and morphological adaptations in phylogenetic reconstructions of Coleoptera; methods of coleopterological research; Coleoptera of forests; Coleoptera of xerothermic habitats; the formation of coleopteran fauna in the Quaternary; dynamics of beetle distribution ranges in Poland, etc.). Recent meetings, however, have had no set theme, in order to cover a broad range of topics, related to the latest advances in research on Coleoptera in Poland. Each year, the symposium is held in a different region of Poland, and a field trip is an integral part of it. The aim of the Section is to promote coleopterological research in Poland.
