DETECTION OF HUMAN ASTROCYTE INFECTION WITH ORTHOHANTAVIRUSES
In this report, a technical protocol for the infection of human astrocytes with the orthohantaviruses Dobrava (DOBV) and Puumala (PUUV) and the detection of infected cells is established. After a 12-day incubation period following infection of the astrocytes, the viruses were quantified in the supernatants. The DOBV and PUUV viruses were stained with monoclonal antibodies and visualized with AEC substrate, with the infected cells stained red.
