TÜV Rheinland Specification on the I-V Characterization of Perovskite-Based PV Modules
Perovskite-based photovoltaics have gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential to surpass traditional silicon-based counterparts in both efficiencies and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing processes. However, challenges such as stability and durability under real-world environmental conditions remain to be addressed. Reliable performance assessment of perovskite-based PV devices is crucial for the further development and commercialization of perovskite PV technology. Several issues are known to affect measurement reliability and must be correctly considered in order to obtain reliable and reproducible results. At TÜV Rheinland a new internal measurement protocol "2 PfG 2960/12.23 - Requirements for I V Measurement of Perovskite-based Photovoltaic Modules (PSK-PV)" has been developed. It describes the guidelines for adequate electrical stabilization and I-V measurement of perovskite-based PV modules. Together with the IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 standards, which are important references for the performance and safety of PV modules, it forms the basis for the certification of perovskite modules.
