Climate Risk Reduction: Hazards and Processes for Operationalizing Climate Information into ASCE Standards and Manuals of Practice

In recognition of the role civil engineers play in addressing the threat posed by weather and climate disasters to the national infrastructure, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Task Force on Climate Resilience in Civil Engineering Practice (ASCE-NOAA Task Force) hosted a workshop June 24-25, 2024, at ASCE Headquarters in Reston, Virginia, entitled Climate Risk Reduction: Hazards and Processes for Operationalizing Climate Information into ASCE Standards and Manuals of Practice. The workshop addressed both the need for observational and projected weather and climate data related to improving resilience and the challenges of improving the process by which relevant climate data are developed and delivered to the civil engineering community.
