Determinación de Tolerancia a biocidas y detección de genes MdfA, TolC, MexC, MexA, acrB y oqxA en aislamientos de Klebsiella pneumonia y Escherichia coli
Introduction: Biocides and antibiotics are widely used as antimicrobials, the difference between them is that biocides are not used to control infections, but rather to eliminate microbial growth. They are usually used at the hospital level for the inactivation and sterilization of contaminated areas that constitute an essential filter for the non-appearance of multi-resistant insulation. Objective: The objective was to determine tolerance to biocides and the presence of efflux pumps in infection isolates. Methodology: It is an observational, descriptive cross-sectional study, it included 32 isolates of Gram-negative bacteria, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, biocides such as Belzalkonium Chloride, Chlorexidine, Cetrimide, Hexadecylpyridinium Chloride and Triclosan were used and the presence of efflux pumps. Results: Isolates tolerant to the highest concentration C1 (10%) of the biocides analyzed were detected, distributed in 15 isolates for Triclosan and 2 for chlorhexidine, of which the highest percentage belonged to E. coli isolates. Conclusions: it is concluded that in the 17 Escherichia coli isolates and 16 Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates, the presence of the genes mdfA, TolC, MexC, MexA, acrB and oqxA was detected, which code for the presence of efflux pumps.
